Lakewood Country Club Update and Evergreen
Posted on Mar 20th, 2025
It has been some time since we've had anything new regarding the Naples Country Club golf course.  The latest news is the pool has been permanently closed due to continuous water leaks and aging equipment.  The pool is no longer safe to use or economical to maintain so the owner has closed it.

The golf course is net positive cash flow, and the owner has plans to keep it open as it is today.  Should we hear something different we will update you here.

Evergreen

This old defunct course continues to have very little activity.  The latest news is that the County forced the owner to install new windows in the old club house and to remove the boarding he had in place as it is a plight to the community.  There was talk of doing an MSTU which would transfer ownership to LCS, but this would require a 50% +1 vote.  The MSTU would cause our property taxes to increase by at least $125/year.  Not a huge amount but it also means LCS would need to maintain the property which would then increase our HOA dues to cover these costs.

There is no, obvious, movement on this at this time.
